You’re Not Alone - Hear From Others on Their Healing Journey

Healing Happens - Counseling & Coping

The most helpful and impactful part of my counseling experience has been gaining a deeper understanding of myself and learning healthy ways to cope with stress and emotions. My counselor provided a safe, nonjudgmental space where I could speak openly, which helped me feel heard and supported. Through our sessions, I developed practical tools—like setting boundaries, practicing mindfulness, and reframing negative thoughts—that have made a significant difference in my daily life and relationships. It's been empowering to realize that change is possible, and that I have the strength and resources to navigate challenges more confidently.

Safe Space - Grief & Growth

I initially started therapy because I was feeling overwhelmed by the traumatic death of my father and the effects of having been in lockdown during the worst of the Covid-19 pandemic. I was feeling completely directionless, anxious, and disconnected from any way to manage or handle those heavy feelings. Working with Ashley has helped me make such incredible progress that would have been unimaginable to me when I first started therapy. She’s created an incredible environment where I feel safe to express myself and to challenge myself to become the truest version of myself. She is always encouraging, thoughtful, and warm. I also greatly appreciate that Ashley is social justice-minded. While I deal with anxiety related to my trauma and family stressors, I also feel greatly impacted by social issues in the world and I love that she’s understanding of the way society and social issues can equally impact my mental health. It makes me feel truly understood and validated when we can connect over the ways society and the world we live in impact us and our community. It’s one of my absolute favorite things about her practice! I’m so proud of how far I’ve come thanks to Ashley and I look forward to continue getting to work on myself and my trauma with her help. I honestly always look forward to our sessions and everything I gain from them!

Continued Care - Strength from Sessions

I started therapy due to high anxiety from the COVID pandemic. My anxiety has since gotten better but I continue my therapy sessions as I find it extremely helpful to work with Ashley when navigating challenging moments in my life. Therapy as an outlet has been beneficial, productive, and eye-opening and I feel I’ve grown personally, as a result.

Crisis Care & Compassion

Working with Ms. Weinkle has been one of the most transformative experiences of my life. She is not only an incredibly skilled therapist but also a deeply intuitive, grounded, and compassionate person. From the very beginning, I could feel how much she truly cares about the work she does and the people she supports.

Her presence is calm, kind, and steady—especially during moments of deep crisis, where she has helped me navigate incredibly difficult emotions with clarity and grace. She has a rare gift for de-escalating intense situations while still holding firm boundaries in the most respectful and gentle way.

What sets her apart is her ability to really listen—not just to words, but to what’s underneath them. Her insights have been spot-on, and her guidance has helped me access strength and clarity I didn’t know I had.

I’m endlessly grateful to have found her. She is a truly remarkable therapist and an even more remarkable human being. I’m so glad I found her.

Breakthrough’s & Building Up

Truly insightful and compassionate. I’ve seen a few therapists over the years, but none brought the clarity and breakthroughs I experienced with Daena as my counselor. Highly recommended!

Calming Minds - Healing Hearts

Daena makes opening up easy. She has a way of calming you when you're worked up and not being judgmental. I thought about therapy many times and was not sure if in-person was better than online but online therapy has been extremely beneficial for me. It's convenient and I found it easy to keep consistent with my sessions.

About The Counselors that Care

Ashley Dominguez, M.S., LMHC QS - CEO

As a spiritually grounded and systemically conscious therapist, I bring over a decade of diverse experience in mental health care, education, and organizational leadership to my current work in private practice. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor specializing in Marriage and Family Therapy, with a strong clinical focus on couples therapy and women’s issues. As a proud member of a minority-owned group practice, I approach therapy through a holistic, culturally-responsive, and community-centered lens.

My academic journey began with a Master’s in Clinical Psychology from Barry University, where I first explored the complex impact of community violence on adolescent mental health. I later decided to work on earning a doctorate with a dissertation focused on the intersection of data systems, youth development, and community voice among minorities in Miami. This research reflects my commitment to elevating underrepresented perspectives and promoting sustainable, youth-centered interventions.

Professionally, I’ve served in roles spanning as clinical director, quality assurance director, and professor—teaching and mentoring future clinicians at Barry University across multiple counseling and psychology courses. I have conducted extensive program audits, supported accreditation processes, and driven ethical and culturally attuned standards of care across various treatment facilities.

Beyond clinical spaces, I’ve worked as a consultant, community advocate, and founder of a nonprofit dedicated to advancing academic success for minority youth. My leadership has extended to board service with organizations, where I have championed inclusive and equity-driven mental health initiatives.

My work is deeply informed by the belief that healing is not just individual—it is collective, systemic, and spiritual. Whether working with couples, facilitating community collaboration, or designing trauma-informed programming, I strive to center humanity, dignity, and empowerment in everything I do.

Daena Weinkle, LMHC - Group Partner

With over a decade of experience in the mental health field, I’ve had the privilege of working with individuals from diverse backgrounds, particularly those navigating the challenges of complex trauma, anxiety, ADHD in adulthood, and family dysfunction. My approach is rooted in compassion, cultural humility, and a deep respect for each person’s lived experience.

I specialize in helping clients understand how life’s systemic stressors—relationships, responsibilities, identity, and environment—impact their mental and emotional wellbeing. Using a holistic and skills-based approach, I guide individuals in developing practical tools to manage life’s complexities, reconnect with their strengths, and move toward lasting change.

As part of a minority-owned practice, I’m committed to creating inclusive, affirming spaces where people feel seen, supported, and empowered to grow.
